Weddings

Looking for a one-of-a-kind, intimate wedding venue, a space wrapped in history and romance? Butterworth Center’s story began at a wedding many years ago when Katherine Deere met the handsome William Butterworth in 1890 at the wedding of her sister, Anna Deere, to William Wiman. When Katherine and William later married in 1892, magnificent Butterworth Center (then known as Hillcrest) was a wedding gift  to the newlyweds from the bride’s father.

Today, couples can celebrate their own love story by reserving the Butterworths’ elegant home to make unforgettable wedding memories. The generous base wedding package includes reservation times for the ceremony in the grand library for 80 to 100 guests, a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and space for a bridal shower for as many as 60 well-wishers.

Additional options after the ceremony include a cocktail reception, which can be extended outdoors, and a tented dinner reception on the Deere-Wiman House south lawn.

Begin your married future with a walk down the aisle at    the most unique wedding venue in the Quad Cities—historic, gracious Butterworth Center.
