Grounds & Facilities Associate (Part-Time)
Help care for a historic community space.
The William Butterworth Foundation is seeking a reliable, hands-on Grounds & Facilities Associate to support the care of our historic buildings and grounds. This role plays an important part in ensuring our sites are safe, welcoming, and ready for the many community groups, visitors, and programs we host each year.
Position Details:
•
Part-time (approximately 20 hours/week)
•
Primarily evenings and weekends (Friday–Monday schedule)
•
$16–$18/hour
In this role, you will:
•
Prepare spaces for community use (set up/tear down tables, chairs, and A/V)
•
Perform cleaning, basic maintenance, and housekeeping task
•
Assist with grounds work including seasonal upkeep and snow removal
•
Conduct building checks to ensure spaces are secure and operating properly
•
Monitor building systems and report any concern
•
Support events, programs, and rental
•
Work independently during evening and weekend shift

• Have a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Are willing to learn and take pride in maintaining historic spaces
• Have a valid driver’s license & smartphone.
Experience in facilities, maintenance, landscaping, or similar work is helpful but not required.

Office Manager (Part-Time)
Help keep a historic nonprofit running smoothly.
The Office Manager helps ensure the William Butterworth Foundation operates efficiently by supporting communication, scheduling, marketing, and office coordination. If you enjoy organization, people, and helping a mission-driven team do great work, this role is a great fit.
Position Details:
• Part-Time Non-Exempt (hourly)
• Hourly Rate: $20.00-$26.00
• Schedule: M-F 11:00-3:00- flexible based on selected candidate.
In this role, you will:
• Keep the office organized and running smoothly
• Coordinate calendars, schedules, and shared spaces
• Update the website and schedule social media posts
• Assist with newsletters, press releases, and graphic templates
• Support staff onboarding and training documentation
• Greet visitors and help with front desk coverage
• Assist with events and cross-department projects

Volunteer Opportunities
We work with volunteers on a variety of activities including tours, summer camp, educational programs, special events, behind-the-scenes event set-ups, gardening and landscaping, administrative support, marketing, donations, database collections, and other special projects.
