Events

Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House hosts a variety of free family events throughout the year. Blossoms at Butterworth — held each June — features outdoor music, refreshments, and old-fashioned games, as well as tours of the local historic Overlook Neighborhood and two Deere family homes. A traditional 19th Century Christmas open house marks the start of the holiday season on the first Sunday afternoon of December. Other annual events, such as Evenings at Butterworth and Music on the Lawn, appeal to visitors from preschoolers to senior citizens.

The outdoor summer concert is a cherished  piece of Americana - and it's going strong at the Deere-Wiman House! Custom-made for local children, our Music on the Lawn Series offers a unique opportunity to picnic and enjoy live music in a family-friendly environment. The concerts are held on the lawn, nestled between the gardens and the historic Deere-Wiman House.

Daytime concerts in June and July are open to children and staff of Quad City daycare centers and homecare operations. To ensure adequate accommodations, the daytime concerts are available by reservation only. Evening family concerts in June and July are open to the public. There is no charge for admission. Bring blankets or lawn chairs; picnic suppers are allowed.
