The Butterworth/Deere-Wiman Scholarship Program is available to Moilne School District 40 graduating seniors who plan on attending college or a university, and teachers who wish to improve their skills. General requirements and application information is outlined below.
High School Seniors
The Butterworht/Deere-Wiman Scholarship Committee partners with the Clem T. Hanson Scholarship Fund administered through the Moline Foundation.
Scholarship applications will be available after January 10, 2006 for application from 2006 graduates of schools within the Moline School District No. 40 boundaries.
For more information, please contact the Moline
Foundation at (309)736-3800.
Although academic achievement is important to the selection process, scholarships are also based on community service and extra-curricular activities.
Winners receive a letter in mid-May detailing scholarship amounts and explaining how the funds will be deposited directly into student accounts at the appropriate college or university.
Butterworth/Deere-Wiman Scholarships may be renewed annually, as long as a student continues to meet academic and reporting qualifications. Since 1992, 15 graduates have received scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 annually.
To apply for the scholarship, students should contact high school guidance counselors or Nan Norcross, Business Manager, at 309-765-7972 or nnorcross@butterworthcenter.com. |
