19th Century Christmas

Each year during the 19th Century Christmas event, hundreds of visitors step back in time to experience the sights and sounds of an 1800s Christmas.

The next 19th Century Christmas will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

(Left, above) Butterworth Center is decorated with handmade wreaths.

(Left, below) Living-history volunteers greet visitors.

(Right) The Deere-Wiman House is decorated in traditional Victorian Christmas decorations.

19th Century Christmas

Activities are located on both Butterworth Center and just across
the street at Deere-Wiman House.

-Enjoy beautiful Victorian decorations throughout both Deere-Wiman House and Butterworth Center

-Visit with living-history volunteers at Deere-Wiman House

-Listen to Moline Boys Choir performances at Butterworth Center

-Visit with Santa and participate in make-and-takes at the Deere-Wiman Carriage House.

Deere-Wiman House Butterworth Center
Deere-Wiman House was built in 1872 and was called "Overlook." Butterworth Center was built in 1892 and was called "Hillcrest."
