Summer Camp

Kids will travel back to the 1830s as they enjoy hands-on these hands-on activities and more!

Each day will be a new adventure as we travel back to the 1800s. This summer camp program, for ages 10-12, will be held July 14 - 18, 2008 and goes from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Registration fee includes lunch, snacks and supplies/activities.

-"Loading" a wagon
-Making rag rugs
-Cooking hard tack
-Spinning raw wool
-Playing 1800s games
-Writing with a quill pen using ink made from berries-
-Making salt maps
-Exploring genealogy
-Making grave stone rubbings
-Tapping a tree
-Touring Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House

Pick up/drop off times
Drop off for the summer camp each day is between 8:30 am and 9:00 am at the Deere-Wiman House. Pick up time is at 3:00 pm at the Deere-Wiman House. On the last day of the summer camp on Friday, July 18th, all parents/guardians are welcome to come at 2:00 pm to see what children have learned during the week. Deere-Wiman House is located at 817-11th Avenue, Moline, IL. map

Registration
